Kenneth R. Cavner, 88, of Maryville, MO, passed away at the SSM Hospital on Wednesday, June 15, 2016.

Kenneth was born on March 31, 1928, in College Springs, IA. His parents were Roy and Flovia (Fine) Cavner. They preceded him in death. He was also preceded by his sister, Rosealtha Gentle, 2 brothers, Caryl and Merlyn Cavner, and twin granddaughters, Sara and Nicole Eckstein.

He proudly served his country from 1950 to 1956, in the US Army. He served over 11 months fighting in Korea. He was dicharged as a Master Sergeant.

Kenneth was united in marriage to M. Rosalee Logsdon, on July 15, 1952, in Maryville, MO.

He had lived in Bedford, IA, before moving to Maryville in 1950.
He had driven a truck, worked at Maryville Pack, and Thomas Market, and then retired in 1986 from Eveready Battery, all of Maryville.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church, James Edward Gray American Legion Post 100, Elks Lodge #760, Maryville Flying Club, and the 102 Valley Road Riders, all of Maryville.

Survivors include his wife, Rosalee, of the home; 2 daughters, Jo Reynolds, and Cindy (Rick) Jones, all of Maryville; 9 grandchildren, Mike (Cara) Eckstein, Olathe, KS, Venissa Jones, Maryville, Stacy Eckstein, Maryville, Jennifer (Justin) Stoll, Maryville, Tim (Cassie) Eckstein, Maryville, Lisa (Chris) McCrary, Clyde, MO, Ashleigh Eckstein, Maryville, Ryan Eckstein, Maryville, and Courtney (Kyle) Kelmel, Maryville; 13 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 18, 2016, at the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home, Maryville, MO. The burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Maryville. The minister will be Pastor Paul McKim.

No formal visitation is planned but friends may call after 1 PM, Friday, at the funeral home.

Military services will be conducted at the cemetery by members of the James Edward Gray AL Post 100, and the Missouri Military Honors Detail.

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
