Eugene (Gene) F. Frear

Gene Frear, 80, of Maryville, MO, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at his home with his family at his side.

Gene was born in Alta, IA, on September 18, 1935. His parents were Glen and Ida (Peggy) Cripe Frear. They preceded him in death. He was also preceded by 2 brothers, Donald and Marvin Frear, and his niece, Julie Taylor. He lived most all his life in the area.

Gene proudly served his country in the US Army. He served 4 years as a Specialist with the Army Engineers.

He owned and operated G&G Asphalt Co. in Maryville, for many years. He later was a bank courier for Citizens Bank & Trust and Citizens State Bank.

On September 16, 1955, Gene was united in marriage to Virginia Pitzenberger, she resides of the home in Maryville.

Other survivors included his son, Gary Frear, Maryville; 2 sisters, Deanne (Donald) Funderburg, Savannah, MO, and Joyce Boese, Riceville, IA, and nieces and nephews.

Gene's wish was to be cremated under the direction of the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home, Maryville, MO. No services are planned at this time. His cremains will be buried at the Oak Lawn Cemetery, Ravenwood, MO, at a later date.
