Willard G. Coffelt, 82, of Maryville, MO, passed from this life on Thursday, May 12, 2016, at the Nodaway Nursing Home, Maryville.
Willard was born on March 16, 1934, in Ravenwood, MO. His parents were Eldon B. and Minnie Messner Coffelt. He graduated from Ravenwood High School and spent all his life in Nodaway County.
On March 21, 1952, at the home of Rev. L.B. Day in Maryville, Willard was united in marriage to Shirley A. Adwell.
Willard and Shirley lived, farmed and raised cattle on the same ground for 53 years before moving to Maryville. He retired in 2010.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers, Wayne, Wes, Curtis and Forrest Coffelt; 1 sister, Vera Coffelt Trimble; 1 grandson, Galen Dale Coffelt; and 1 granddaughter, Amy Kay Coffelt.
Willard is survived by his wife, Shirley, of the home, 9 children, David (Linda) Coffelt, Harrisonville, MO, Darrel (Alyce) Coffelt, LeSuere, MN, Bev (Marvin) Wallace, Lees Summit, MO, Bonnie (Gary) Weber, Savannah, MO, Bob Coffelt, Kansas City, MO, Andy Coffelt, Pierre, SD, Barb (Gary) Schieber, Lees Summit, MO, Beth (Scott) Hageman, Kansas City, MO, Becky (Troy) Vasbinder, Parkville, MO; 4 siblings, Harold Coffelt, Maryville, MO, Verda Myers, Torrance, CA, Lovella (Paulie) Schmitz, Kirksville, MO, Jerry (Esther) Coffelt, Ravenwood, MO; 18 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be at 3:00 PM, Saturday, May 14, 2016, at the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home, Maryville, MO. The officiant will be Mr. David Coffelt. The burial will follow in the Oak Lawn Cemetery, Ravenwood, MO.
The family will receive friends from 1-3:00 PM, Saturday, at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor’s choice in Willard’s name.
