Richard Eugene Auffert, 75, of Maryville, MO, passed from this life on Monday, May 9, 2016, at the Parkdale Manor Nursing Home, Maryville.
Richard was born on August 23, 1940, in Clyde, MO, his parents were Ervin B. and Bernadine F. (Bliley) Auffert. He lived all his life in this area.
He was a high school graduate and a member of the US Army National Guard. He obtained the rank of Specialist First Class and was discharged in 1966. Richard was an over the road truck driver for 28 years for Nucor-LMP Steel, Maryville.
Richard was a member and attended St. Gregory’s Catholic Church, Maryville. He was also a member of the Tri-C American Legion Post #464, Conception Junction, MO.
His parents preceded him in death, as did his brothers, Marvin, Donald, and his sister, Lisa.
On August 19, 1961, Richard was united in marriage to Shirley A. Bradshaw, in Maryville, she survives of the home.
Other survivors include his children, Dick (Carla) Auffert, Jr., Clarinda, IA, Mike (Amber) Auffert, Kansas City, MO, and Tina Compston, Marietta, OH; 3 sisters, Rosalie Gruenes, Teresa Lammers, and Mary Jo Vernon, and 3 brothers, Bill Auffert, Jerry Bob Auffert, and B.H. Auffert; 9 grandchildren, Kayla Baanders, Anna Auffert, Kyle Auffert, Matt Auffert, Nathan Auffert, Heather Auffert, Joel Compston, Brett Compston, and Sydney Compston; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 AM, Thursday, May 12, 2016, at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church, Maryville, MO.
The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM, Thursday, just prior to the Mass.
