Victor Allen Workman, 61, of Pickering, MO, formerly of Indiana, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City.
He was born March 18, 1955 to Charles William Workman and Betty Pauline Burns Workman in Akron, OH. They preceded him in death.
Victor served in the Army for nine and a half years as a telecommunications specialist and military policeman. He earned multiple commendations including a Bronze Star. While in Germany, he played semi-pro basketball with the European League.
In 1988, he began working for AT&T as a telecommunications specialist and customer service representative. He strongly believed in giving customers the best service possible, going above and beyond to ensure their satisfaction. He retired in 2010.
That year, he opened Vic's Boats and ran his own business until 2013, when he moved to Missouri and began working for Century Link.
Victor loved to travel and spend time with his family. He had a passion for boating, camping, and golf.
He is survived by three children, Crystal (Jose) Ayala, Goodyear, AZ, Joshua (Rebecca) Urbanowitz, and Christopher Workman, of the home; three grandchildren, Cayden Ayala, Joshua Lee Urbanowitz, Jr. and Steven Lee Steinert; sisters, Pamela Joseph, Cuyahoga Falls, OH, and Mary (John) Armour, Akron, OH, several nieces and nephews
Memorial services will be held on Monday, May 9, 2016 at Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home, Maryville, MO, at 2:00 p.m. The family will meet with family and friends one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be given to help with Christopher Workman's college fund.
