Carmen R. Sobbing, 64, Maryville, MO, passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2015, at the Golden Living Center, Maryville.
Carmen was born in Maryville on November 23, 1951, and lived most of her life in the area. Her parents were Lawrence and Ruby (Pruitt) Zimmerman. They preceded her in death, as did 2 grandsons, Antton and Rayland Embley, and her brother, Larry Zimmerman, and her sister Carol Bjork.
She graduated from the former Mt Alverno Academy, east of Maryville, and attended NWMSU. She had formerly worked as a Dietician for St. Francis Hospital in Maryville. She was Catholic and attended St. Gregory’s Catholic Church, Maryville, MO.
Carmen enjoyed music and played her saxophone into adulthood. She liked coffee and her goal in life was to make everyone smile and nothing ever got her down. She loved playing with her grandchildren.
On May 9th, 1987, she was united in marriage to Joseph A. Sobbing, he survives of Maryville.
Other survivors include her children, Tara (Garry) Embley, Burlington Junction, MO, Chris Myers, Nashau, NH, Chad (Melanie) Myers, NH, step children, Raymond “Pete” Sobbing, Kansas City, MO, Melissa (Will) Wise, Kansas City, MO, and Dr. Jackson (Debbie) Sobbing, Wichita, KS; her brother, Lane Zimmerman, St. Joseph, MO, and her sister, Pam (Rick) Jameson; 10 grandchildren, 8 Step-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mass of Chrisitan Burial will be at 11:00 AM, on Saturday, December 12, 2015, at the St. Gregory’s Catholic Church, Maryville. The burial will be in the White Oak Cemetery, Pickering, MO.
A parish and family rosary will be at 5:30 PM, Friday, December 11, 2015, at the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home. The family will then receive friends from 6-7:30 PM, at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
