Verlin "Denny" D. Porterfield

Verlin Denzil "Denny" Porterfield, 84, of Clearmont, MO, passed away Thursday, November 26, 2015, at the Nodaway Nursing Home, Maryville.

Denny was born in Nodaway County, Missouri, November 17, 1931, to Raymond and Verla Pauline (Koger) Porterfield. He was a lifelong resident of the area.

He was of the Christian Faith, and was a retired farmer. Denny graduated in 1949 from Clearmont High School, Clearmont, MO.

Denny was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Cople Porterfield, his nephew, Gilbert Lee Porterfield, brother in law, Edwin Willrich, infant niece, Marcie Thompson.

He married Doris Marlene Bragg on March 1, 1953, in Burlington Junction, MO. She survives of the home, Clearmont.

Other survivors include his 3 sisters, Nancy (Richard) DeMott, Pickering, MO, Marcia (Jim) Thompson, Republic, MO, Mary Willrich, Adair, IA, and brother, Tillie (Karen) Porterfield, Maryville, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services and burial will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 30, 2015, at the Oak Hill Cemetery, Clearmont, MO. The minister will be Mr. Vic Coston

No formal visitation is planned. Services are under the direction of the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home, Maryville, MO
