Arlene Fries, 87, of Bolckow, MO, passed from this life on Friday, October 23, 2015, at her home.

Arlene was born on April 7, 1928, in St. Joseph, MO. Her parents were William Isaac and Artha Jean (Dearmont) Harris. She attended grade school at Star country school at Fortescue, and attended high school at Belleview Country School, near New Liberty, MO.
She worked in a restaurant on the river in Mound City, MO, and later worked at Chase Candy Company, in St. Joseph, MO. On August 10, 1946, she was united in marriage to Robert Edgar Fries, Sr.

Arlene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Robert, in 1993; and 3 grandchildren, William Parks, Gracie Fries, and Cory
Cooksey.

She was a hard worker, tending to her husband, the farm, kids, and their home.

Survivors include her 5 children, Nikia, and husband Charles Schulte, Jefferson City, MO, Niegel, and husband Rick Cooksey, Sibley, MO, Bobbie, and husband Ron Henderson, Harrisonville, MO, Betty, and husband Terry Karr, King City, MO, and Rob, and wife Andrea Fries, Barnard, MO; 1 sister, Shirley, and husband Glen (Bud) Appleman, Stockport, IA; 12 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Monday, October 26, 2015, at the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home, Maryville, MO. The burial will follow at the New Liberty Cemetery, Mound City, MO. Rev. Floyd Ferguson will be the officiant.

The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service on Monday at the funeral home.
