Virgil Vaughn “Vonnie” Carroll, 62, of Maryville, MO, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2015, at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.

Vonnie was born on October 6, 1953, in Skidmore, MO, to Curtis Blaine and Arlene (Parker) Carroll. His father preceded him in death.

A 1972 graduate of Nodaway-Holt High School, Vonnie was a veteran of the US Air Force Reserves. He worked in sales, most recently he spent 14 years with Metal Sales Manufacturing, and prior to that he had worked for Woodruff-Arnold, in Maryville.

On November 27, 1971, Vonnie was united in marriage to Teresa A. Scarbrough, in Mound City, MO.

Vonnie’s job had taken them to several places over the years; Topeka, KS, Shreveport, LA, Cedar Rapids, IA, Maryville, MO, Davenport, IA, Temple, TX, and back in Maryville for the past 8 years.

His survivors include his wife, Terri, of the home; 2 sons, Tony (Nikki) Carroll, Ankeny, IA, and Mike (Miranda) Carroll, Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Mackenzie and Morgan Carroll, Ankeny, IA, and Ireland, Aiden, Erin, and Abigail Carroll, Phoenix, AZ; his mother, Arlene Carroll, Maryville, MO; siblings, Richard (Dorothy) Carroll, Burlington Junction, MO, Christine (Kenny) Nielson, Maryville, MO, LaVern Carroll, Bolivar, MO, Ronald Dean Carroll, Maryville, MO, and Don (Peggy) Carroll, Marion, Michigan, and Bill (Lynn) Carroll, Marion, Michigan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Life Services will be at 9:30 AM, Monday, October 26, 2015, at the Laura Street Baptist Church, Maryville, MO. The burial will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Mound City, MO. The officiant will be Pastor Paul McKim.

Military rites will be performed at the cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2-4:00 PM, Sunday, October 25, 2015, at the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home, Maryville, MO.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Laura Street Baptist Church Building Fund.
