April S. Lawyer

April Suzanne Lawyer, 52, of Maryville, MO, passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2015, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kansas City, MO, with her family at her side.

April was born on April 3, 1963, in Maryville, MO, to Edward L. and Rose M. (Hass) Treese. Her father preceded her in death on September 18, 2010. She lived most of her life in this area and had spent 11 years on the east coast.

She was a 1981 graduate of Maryville High School. She graduated from NWMSU, and later obtained her Master’s Degree in Education from Northwest, with a specialty in early childhood development.
April was a member of the First Christian Church, Maryville, MO, MSTA (Missouri State Teachers Association), and a former member of MSHSAT Coaches Association (Missouri State High School Activities Association).

On June 9, 1984, at the First Christian Church in Maryville, she was united in marriage to Dave Lawyer, he survives of the home.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her children, Clint A. Lawyer, Maryville, MO, Hannah L. Lawyer, Chadds Ford, PA, and Cole A. Lawyer, Maryville, MO; parents, Rose and Larry Vance, Maryville, MO; 2 sisters, Kim Treese, (and companion, Carl Vansickle), Maryville, MO, and Rosemary (Kirby) Stiens, Conception Junction, MO; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

April was a dedicated, spirited wife, mother and teacher. She had a meaningful impact on countless lives, on the east coast and throughout Northwest Missouri. She will be missed!

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Monday, October 5, 2015, at the First Christian Church, Maryville, MO. The burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Maryville, MO.

The family will receive friends from 2-4:00 PM, Sunday, October 4, 2015, at the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home, Maryville.

Memorials are suggested to the NOCOMO Industries, or the local chapter of Special Olympics, and can be left at the funeral home.
