Geraldine Marie Bears, 95, of Burlington Junction, MO, passed from this life on Wednesday, September 23, 2015, at a nursing home in Maryville, MO.

Geraldine was born in Braddyville, IA, on December 16, 1919. Her parents were David B. and Grace Louvada “Vada” (Brown) Greeley. They preceded her in death. She was also preceded by her husband Kenneth in 2003; her brother, Robert Greeley, and a grandson, Craig Bears.

Geraldine lived all her life in the Burlington Junction area. She was a homemaker and a seamstress. She loved to crochet and to make afghans. She was a member of the Burlington Junction United Methodist Church.

On February 12, 1941, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Leroy Bears, in Maryville, MO. He passed away in 2003 after 51 years of marriage.

Her survivors include her children, Deloris Shipley, Burlington Junction, MO, and Donald (Dorothy) Bears, Topeka, KS; 2 sisters, Jane (Eldon) Buesing, Maryville, MO, and Louvada (Jim) McAlpin, New Market, IA, brother, Richard Greeley, Maryville, MO; 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 1 great great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Monday, September 28, 2015, at the Burlington Junction United Methodist Church. The burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Clearmont, MO.

The family will receive friends for one hour prior to services Monday at the church.

Services are under the direction of the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home, Maryville, MO.
