Robert David Shipley

Robert David Shipley, 62, of Burlington Junction, MO, passed from this life on Friday, August 28, 2015, at his home.

Robert was born on January 8, 1953, in Maryville, MO, to R. Willie and Helen C. (Batt) Shipley. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, Anna Frances Shipley, Susan Elizabeth Moberg; wife, Barbara D. Shipley.

He was a 1971 graduate of the West Nodaway High School, Burlington Junction, MO, and lived all his life in the area. He spent 28 years at Enegizer in Maryville in the maintenance department.

He had a lifelong love of horses and shared that passion with family and friends. He was a member of the Hoof and Horn Saddle Club, Burlington Junction, MO.

He is survived by his wife, Deloris Shipley of the home; his children, daughters, Elizabeth (Clint) Hetherington, Crane, MO, Sarah Jo (Patrick) Graham, Bethany, MO, Julie (Travis) Law, St. Joseph, MO, sons, John Thomas Christian, Dallas, TX, Jesse Christian, Burlington Junction, MO; 4 grandchildren, Tyler John Law, Jamie Dawn Law, Jessa Lynn Christian, and Cole Charles Hetherington; 3 brothers, Marvin (Pat) Shipley, Chickasha, OK, Donald Shipley, Rush Springs, OK, and William Dean Shipley, Marlow, OK; brother in laws, Larry Groff, Maryville, MO, and John Moberg, Olathe, KS, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Monday, August 31, 2015, at the Burlington Junction Christian Church, Burlington Junction, MO. Cremation will be completed after the service.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to services Monday at the church.

Services are under the direction of the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home, Maryville, MO.
