George Albert Clement

George Albert Clement, 76, Maryville, MO, left this world for a greater place with his Lord when he passed away at his home on May 10, 2015.

George was born on February 12, 1939, at Westboro, MO to Milton L. and Winnetta E. (Bently) Clement, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded by a half-sister, Wilma Leek.

George graduated from Horace Mann High School, Maryville, in 1957. He proudly served his country for 4 years in the United States Marine Corps.

In Maryville, George was employed by Townsend Wholesale Grocery, Maryville Florists, then became owner/operator of the Shady Lady Tavern before going to work for Patton Sales Company, as well as having been an independent contractor installing satellite TV systems for United Services.

George is survived by the love of his life for 35 years, Judy Lyons, of their home, Maryville; Judy’s family; a brother, Richard (Betty) Clement, Augusta, GA; one niece; 2 nephews; 2 great nieces; one great nephew; 2 great-great nephews; cousins; and many, many friends.

George’s wish was to be cremated. No visitation is planned. A graveside inurnment service with military rites will be held at a later date at the Center Grove Cemetery, Westboro, MO.

George loved kids and considered them one of God’s greatest treasures so memorial suggestions are to the Ronald McDonald House, 2502 Cherry Street, Kansas City, MO 64108, to benefit families of ill children at Children’s Mercy Hospital, Kansas City, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, and may be mailed to the given addresses.
