Mildred M. Klaas, 92, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2015, at the Nodaway Nursing Home, Maryville.
Mildred was born on September 12, 1922, in Red Oak, IA, to Simon and Anna (Schmid) Sommerhalder. She graduated from Conception Missouri High School. Her memberships included the St. Gregory's Catholic Church, the St. Gregory's Womens Guild, and the Nodaway County Senior Center.
On June 3, 1947, she married Edward (Derks) Klaas, Sr, he passed away in 2001.
She is survived by her son, Edward T. (Sally) Klaas, Jr., Maryville, daughter, Barbara (Jim) Beatty, Lenexa, KS, step daughter, Rose Marie Esch, Arlington, NE, 6 grandchildren, 9 step grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 14 step great grandchildren.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edward, son, Donald Klaas, step daughter, Elaine DeWulf, and her sister, Margaret Sommerhalder.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM, Friday, March 27, 2015, at the St. Gregory's Catholic Church, Maryville, MO. The burial will follow at the St. Columba Cemetery, Conception, MO.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to services on Friday at the Church.
