Stanley L. Wade

Stanley Lee Wade, 82, of Maryville, MO, passed from this life on March 4, 2015, at the Nodaway Nursing Home, Maryville.

Stan was born on April 6, 1932, in Sterling, CO, to Lester and Lucille (Givens) Wade. He was a 1950 graduate of the Independence Kansas High School, then graduated from Pittsburg State University, Pittsburg, KS, and then earned his Doctorate in Education from the University of Kansas.

He held various coaching, teaching and school administration positions throughout the years, and he retired in 1990, as a Professor of School Administration at NWMSU, in Maryville.
Stan served his country in the US Army and then the Missouri National Guard, retiring as a Colonel in 1987. He was called to active duty during peacetime Germany and Vietnam.

He married Peggy Sue Oesch in 1953, and she preceded him in death.
He later married Dorothy Jean Waite. They lived in Clarinda, IA, and Florida for several years and returned to Maryville in 2008.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Peggy; brother Don Wade and sister Betty Hancock.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, Maryville; daughters, Pamela (Tom) Rubel, Ankeny, IA, Terri (Jim) Milbank, Cicero, IL, Linda (Tom) Warman, West Des Moines, IA; 7 grandchildren, Christi (Sylvester) Tapia Scott (Natalie) Bantz, Wade Warman, Brad Warman, Jay D. Milbank, Tayler Milbank, and Reed Warman; great granddaughter, Ellie Mae Bantz; two step daughters, Heather (Steve) Griffith, Heidi (Darin) Orme; six step-grandchildren, Matthew, Sam, Max, Natalie, Evan, and Riley.

Stan loved family, football, and was an avid golfer. He was of the Methodist faith.

Mr. Wade has been cremated under the direction of the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home. A family service will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or American Heart Association, and can be left at the funeral home.
