Edith L. Strauch

Edith L. Strauch, 96, of Maryville, MO, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 2, 2015, at the St. Francis Hospital ER, Maryville.

Edith was born on August 5, 1918, in Robinson, KS, to Jesse and Vivian (Honer) Smith. The family moved to this area when Edith was very young and she lived in the area all her life. She was a homemaker and of the Christian faith.

On February 3, 1940, she was united in marriage to Leland Strauch in Hiawatha, KS. Leland passed away in 1990. She was also preceded by her parents; her son, Roger Strauch, in 1973; her daughter, Sharla Sill in 2013; her son in laws, David Carter, and Cleo Sill; and her brother Ross Smith, and his wife Evelyn.

Edith is survived by her children, Kenneth (Sharon) Strauch, Skidmore, MO, Richard (Susie) Strauch, Barnard, MO, Donald (Carol) Strauch, Skidmore, MO, and her daughter, Wanda Sue Carter, St. Joseph, MO; 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; her sister in law, Gladys Strauch, Maryville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services and burial will be at 10:30 AM, on Friday, March 6, 2015, at the Nodaway Memorial Gardens, Maryville. Rev. Bill Gazaway will be the minister.

The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 PM, on Thursday, March 5, 2015, at the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home, Maryville.
