Georgia (Corky) M. Wiederholt

Georgia Maurine “Corky” Wiederholt, 85, of Conception, MO, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at the Golden Living Center with her family at her side.

Corky was born on April 19, 1929, in Clyde, MO, to Clarence and Genevieve (McLaughlin) Merrigan, they preceded her in death. She attended grade school and graduated from the former St. Benedict’s School, Clyde, MO.

She married Gerald George “Jerry” Wiederholt on September 2, 1950, at St. Benedict’s Church, Clyde, MO. Corky was a homemaker, and had been a cook for 20 years at the Conception Abbey, in Conception, MO.

Corky was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sons, Patrick, Mark, Steve, and David Wiederholt, great grandson, Corbin Wiederholt; son in law Daniel From; sister Catherine Alice Sheehan, Kansas City, MO.

Her survivors include her children, Norbert (Barbara) Wiederholt, Lawson, MO, Cheryl (Rob) Downen, Holt, MO, Dennis Wiederholt, and Keith Wiederholt, Conception, MO, and Sheila (Darrell) Schieber, Conception, MO; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; sisters, Mary Mahoney, Viola Fowler, Monica Nelson, and brother, Terry Merrigan, all of Kansas City, MO, and Dee Elkins Ruby, Chandler, AZ; 2 daughter in laws, Kimberly Wiederholt, Conception, MO, and Teresa Wiederholt, Maryville, MO.

Mrs. Wiederholt has been cremated.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, February 28, 2015, at the St. Columba Catholic Church, Conception Junction, MO. The inurnment will follow in the St. Columba Cemetery, Conception, MO.

The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 PM on Friday, February 27, 2015, at the church, where the parish prayer service will be recited at 7:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Arthritis Foundation, 1900 W 75th St, #200, Prairie Village, KS 66208; or can be left at the church for Masses.
