Ted A. Finney

Ted Alan Finney, 51, Skidmore, MO, passed away unexpectedly on
Tuesday, October 21, 2014, at the St. Francis Hospital, Maryville, MO.

Ted was born in Maryville, MO, on September 30, 1963. His parents were Francis DeWitt and Barbara Joan (Griffey) Finney. He spent most all his life in the area.

Ted graduated from West Nodaway High School in 1981. He received his B.S. from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, MO, in 1986. He later returned to Northwest and received his teaching certificate and taught Industrial Arts for 6 years. He was a member and attended the Ravenwood Christian Church, Ravenwood, MO, the
Rolla Dicks American Legion Post 315, Burlington Junction, MO, the West Nodaway Fire Protection District; and the West Nodaway School Board.

Sergeant First Class Ted Finney served 31 years with the Missouri Army National Guard. Active duty assignments included Readiness NCO for the HHB 1-129 Field Artillery in Maryville, MO; Recruiter in Maryville and St. Joseph, MO; and RSP Coordinator for Recruiting and Retention in St. Joseph.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Joan Finney, in 1993;
mother and father-in-law, Zealand, in 2006, and Marjorie Smith, in 2013; and sister-in-law, Jo Hutchison, in 2008.

On December 10, 1982, Ted was united in marriage to Marla Suzzane Smith, in Elmo, MO, she survives of the home.

Other survivors include his children, Matthew (Lisa) Finney,Skidmore, MO, April (Josh) Money, and grandson Graysen, Clearmont, MO,Courtney Finney and Mackenzie Finney, of the home, Skidmore, MO; his father, DeWitt Finney, Skidmore, MO; brothers, sisters,and in-laws, Pam (Lyle) Marriott, Clearmont, MO, Robin (Greg) Pierpoint, St. Joseph, MO, Francis (Bobbi) Finney, Martinsville, IN, Mike (Tricia) Finney,
Sanger, TX, Curtis (Ellen) Finney, St. Peters, MO, and Greg (Sandra) Finney, Smithville, MO, Melinda (Jim) Thompson, Elmo, MO, Connie (Tim) Randall, Skidmore, MO, Steve Hutchison, Elmo, MO, Tina Ripley, Bedford, IA, Bobby (Donna) Smith, Elmo, MO; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 25,2014, at the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home, Maryville, MO; the burial will follow
in the Wilcox Cemetery, Wilcox, MO.

The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 PM on Friday,October 24, 2014, at the funeral home.
