Curtis Lee “Gus” Crenshaw, 86, of Maryville, MO, and former lifelong resident of Parnell, MO, passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2014, at the Golden Living Center, Maryville, MO.
Gus was born on November 27, 1927, in Parnell, MO. His parents were Walter A. and Mary Ellen (Treese) Crenshaw, and preceded him in death. He was also preceded by his wife, Lela Maye Maxwell, whom he married on June 27, 1952, in Grant City, MO; 2 sons, Walter Crenshaw in 2001, Eugene Crenshaw in 1965; and by siblings Mae Hibbs, Helen Pitzenberger, and Alva Crenshaw.
Gus had worked in a rock quarry, and then at Uniroyal in Maryville; and later retired from Northwest Missouri State University, also of Maryville. He attended the United Methodist Church, Parnell, MO.
His survivors include his daughter, Mary (Bob) Ebrecht, Maryville, MO; daughter in law, Kim Crenshaw, Ravenwood, MO; grandchildren, Greg (Amelia) Ebrecht, Parnell, MO, Debra (Travis) Burns, Parnell, MO, and Kelly Crenshaw, Ravenwood, MO; great grandchildren, Craig and Lily Burns, and William and Tristin Needels; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, October 18, 2014, at the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home, Maryville, MO. The Minister will be Pastor Paul McKim. The burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Parnell, MO.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and may be left at the funeral home.
