Gene Renshaw 85, of Maryville, MO, passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2014, at the Nodaway Nursing Home, Maryville.

Gene was born on April 20, 1929 in Maryville; his parents were L. Cleo and Lora B. (McDowell) Renshaw. Gene was a lifelong resident of the Maryville area.

Gene was a graduate of the Maryville High School. His memberships included the First United Methodist Church, and the former Levi and Laces Square Dance Club. He was also a member of the Army National Guard.

Gene was a farmer and farmed west of Maryville his entire life until just recently.

On September 23, 1950, Gene was united in marriage to Judy G.. Stickley, and she survives of Maryville.

Other survivors include his children, Barb Ide, and companion, Randy
Reiley, St. Joseph, MO, Kirby (Jerry) Renshaw, Skidmore, MO, and Roger (Debby) Renshaw, Barnard, MO; 8 grandchildren, Scott (Michelle) Ide, Steven (Terra) Ide, Troy (Jenny) Renshaw, Lori (Evan) Tally, Brian Renshaw, Abbie (Curt) Schafer, Kristy Bailey, Haley (James) Gilroy; 12 great grandchildren; sister in law, Irene Renshaw, niece, Diane (Bob) Smock, and former daughter in law, Donna and (Galen) Lewis.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Thursday, August 14, 2014, at the First United Methodist Church. The burial will follow in the Miriam Cemetery, both of Maryville, MO.

The family will receive friends for one hour prior to services on Thursday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Nodaway Nursing Home, 22371 State Highway 46, Maryville, MO 64468.
