Ervin J. “Joe” Luke, 80, of Maryville, MO, and formerly of Ravenwood, MO, passed away at his home on Saturday, July 12, 2014.

Joe was born in Clyde, MO, on July 11, 1934, to Frank H. and Regina (Abels) Luke, he had spent many years in Ravenwood, MO, and moved to Maryville 3 ½ years ago.

He was a 1952 graduate of Jefferson High School in Conception Junction, MO, and had worked 10 years for Robbins Lightning Protection, and then retired after 20 years as a warehouseman with N.E.B.S., both of Maryville. He was of the catholic faith.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Leroy Luke, and Ralph Luke, and his sister, Vera Luke.

He proudly served his country during the Korean War while a member of the US Navy, Naval Air Division. He was honorably discharged in 1959.

On September 13, 1958, at the former St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Maryville, MO, Joe was united in marriage to Laura L. Wilmes, she survives of the home in Maryville.

Others left to mourn his passing are his daughters, Cheryl Luke, Crown Point, IN, and Annette (John) Cordell, Kansas City, MO; 3 brothers, Gerald “Dutch” (Mary) Luke, Maryville, MO, Richard “Dick” (Rose) Luke, Maryville, MO, Alvin (Mary) Luke, Maryville, MO, and Marvin (Janet) Luke, Stanberry, MO; 4 grandchildren, Chandra Coffman, St, Joseph, MO, Andrew Coffman, Ft. Scott, KS, Ryan Coffman, Wathena, KS, and Zachary Schroeder, Crown Point, IN; 2 great grandchildren, Connor Sutton and Cayden Sutton, St. Joseph, MO; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Cremation has been completed by the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home, Maryville, MO.

Memorial services will be at a later date. No formal visitation is planned. A register book is available at the funeral home.
