Mary Lou Hendrix, 86, of Bolckow, MO, passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2014, at her home in Bolckow.
Mary was born on June 22, 1927 in Barnard, MO, her parents were Earl and Osie (Thompson) Williamson. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Arthur G. (Jack) Hendrix, and her brother, Edgar Williamson.
Mary had a good child hood with a great family and attended country schools. She married at an early age, and had moved back with her parents while her husband Jack was in World War II.
Mary was a lovely homemaker who enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, reading, quilting, embroidery, music, flowers, and birds. Mary made and gave away many handmade quilts.
She was a wonderful cook, and all who knew her have unforgettable memories of great meals and good times. Everyone was welcomed.
Mary was a devoted mother and grandmother, noted for her smiles for everyone. She leaves a legacy in love, honesty, hard work, and a lifetime of helping and caring for others. She always went the extra mile. She made all Christmases and holidays special.
She worked at two different grocery stores in Bolckow for years, and later she worked for Shop-N-Hop at Midway, for 17 years. She was known for her friendliness, honesty and integrity. She retired at age 80.
Mary was rich in friends and love, and everyone loved her. She was a Christian, loved the Lord, and enjoyed going to church.
She leaves her children; daughter, Jacqueline McGuire, son, Larry (Millie) Hendrix, daughter, Sandra Potts, son, David Hendrix, all of Bolckow; sister, Vernelle Coburn, Albany, MO, 8 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, on Monday, February 17, 2014, at the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home, Maryville, MO. Burial will be in the Bolckow Missouri Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 PM, on Sunday, February 16, 2014, at the funeral home.
