Dean F. Palmer

Dean Franklin Palmer, 87, of Maryville, MO, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 18, 2013, at his home in Maryville.

Dean was born in Rockport, MO, on June 11, 1926. He had resided in California for many years before returning to northwest Missouri. His parents were Roland and Evanell (Lehman) Palmer, and preceded him in death.

Dean was a US Army infantry veteran of WW II, and served in the South Pacific theater. He later retired after many years as a self-employed roofing contractor. He and Jeanette owned and operated their own business, Palmer Roofing Service, in Cotati, CA. He still enjoyed shooting trap, and had liked to bowl.

Dean was united in marriage to Jeanette M. Treder, in 1949 in Reno, Nevada.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette, of the home in Maryville, MO; daughters, Deana (Jim) Butler, Petaluma, CA, and Connie (Dennis) Backman, Maryville, MO; son, Herb (Cindy) Palmer, Cotati, CA; grandsons, Justin (Vanessa) Armstrong, David Palmer, and Travis (Katherine)Palmer; great grandchildren, Timberley Armstrong, Tameyra Armstrong, Andaya Backman, Mylee Backman, Racyn Backman, Jordan Butler, and Riley and Colton Crummey; 3 sisters, Dorothy Dredge, Maryville, MO, Francis Brokaw, Higginsville, MO, and Dora Mae Cassity, Billings, MT; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dean’s body has been cremated under the direction of the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home, Maryville, MO. Memorial services will be at a later date.
