Norris "Doc" Wilson

Norris “Doc” Wilson, 82, of Maryville MO, passed away on Nov. 2, 2013, at the Heartland Hospital in St. Joseph, MO.

Doc was born February 25, 1931, in Ravenwood, MO, to George “Doc” and Ruby (Lewis) Wilson, he was a lifelong resident of Maryville area.

Doc was a graduate of Ravenwood High School, Ravenwood, MO.

He was a heavy equipment operator for Ideker Construction, Mound City, MO, and a member of the Operators/Engineers Union 101. He was also a member of the Missouri Army National Guard.

On February 16, 1953, Doc married Lavera Wilmes in Harrison, Arkansas. She survives of the home in Maryville.

Other survivors include his children, Ron (Elaine) Wilson, of Maryville, Karen (Brian) Clark, of Springfield MO, and two step-daughters, Janice (Ed) Barber, of Urbandale, IA, and Linda Mercer, of Clearfield, IA; five grandchildren, Nathan, Tyler, Katelynn Wilson, and Brice and Bailey Clark; six step-grandchildren, and two great grandchildren; his brother, Burton Wilson of Stanberry, MO, and his sister, Norma Jean Walker, of Ravenwood, MO; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 6, 2013, at St. Gregory’s Barbarigo Catholic Church, Maryville, MO.
The burial will be in the St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Maryville, MO.

There will be a prayer service at 5:30 PM on Tuesday, November 5, 2013, followed by a visitation until 8:00 pm at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, or to St. Gregory’s Barbarigo Church.
