Earl Lavern Burson

Earl LaVern Burson, 75, of Maryville, MO, passed from this life on October 22, 2013, at his home southwest of Maryville.

Earl was born in Red Oak, IA, on December 30, 1937, to Denton Robert and Leota Pearl (Liter) Burson. In 1939, the family moved to their farm outside of Maryville, where Earl lived the rest of his life.

He was a 1955 graduate of the Maryville High School, and he served his country in the Missouri National Guard. Earl was a dairy farmer all his life and retired 1995. His memberships included the St. Gregory’s Barbarigo Catholic Church, Maryville, and the American Dairy Farmers. He loved to bowl and had been a member of several local bowling leagues over the years.

Preceding him in death were his parents, a brother in infancy, and 2 sisters, Betty Martin, and Pearl Klassy.

On December 29, 1958, at the former St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Maryville, Earl was united in marriage to Clara Margaret Barmann. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include his children, Denny LaVern Burson, Maryville, MO, Thomas Joseph, and wife Deanna Burson, Warrensburg, MO, Brian Christopher, and wife Bernice Burson, Barnard, MO, Deborah Ann, and husband Robert Dougan, Maryville, MO, and Karen Lynn, and husband Delbert Worthington, Maryville, MO; 14 grandchildren, Johnathan Soto, Nicole Reno, Max, Alex, Connor and Olivia Burson, Blake Burson, Karlie Blair, Cole and Christopher Dougan, Kirsten Imray, Taylor, Mitchell and Megan Worthington; 1 great grandson, Ayden Reno; 2 brothers, Orlando, and wife Colleen Burson, Euphrata, WA, and Robert L. Burson, Bedford, IA; and several nieces and nephews.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM, Monday, October 28, 2013, at the St. Gregory’s Barbarigo Catholic Church, Maryville, MO. The burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, also of Maryville.

Military Rites at the cemetery will be provided by members of the James Edward Gray American Legion Post 100, Maryville, MO

A prayer service will be recited at 6:00 PM, Sunday, October 27, 2013, at the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home, Maryville, MO, with visitation to follow until 8:00 PM.
