Leroy L. Wedlock, 82, of Maryville, MO, passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2013, at the Golden Living Center, Maryville.

Leroy was born on May 17, 1931, in Hamilton, MO, to Harold A. and Ethyl (Beattie) Wedlock. The family moved to Maryville in 1943, and Leroy graduated from Maryville High School in 1951.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Angela Wedlock, in 1958; brothers, Arden Wedlock, and Lloyd Wedlock; and sisters, Edythe Tuggle, Yvonne Christian, Kathleen Axon, and Betty Ratchford; and several nieces and nephews.

On December 25, 1951, at the First Christian Church in Maryville, Leroy was united in marriage to Shirley Frances Canon.

He was a member, past president, and held State offices with the Maryville Jaycees. A member of the Maryville Kiwanis Club, the Maryville Lions Club; a 50 year member, past Worshipful Master and District Lecturer of the Nodaway Lodge #470 AF & AM, Maryville, MO; Scottish Rite Bodies, St. Joseph, MO; and a member of the First Christian Church, Maryville, MO. He was the past leader of BSA Troop 75, Maryville, MO. an Honorary member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say, St. Joseph, MO, and the Maryville Mens Golf Association.

Leroy enjoyed playing golf. He was proud to have his Private Pilot’s License, and co-own and fly his own airplane. He and Shirley belonged to the Pony Express HitchHikers RV Club for many years, and they shared many special weekends and it was a favorite organization of their’s

For 35 years, Leroy and Shirley owned and operated Leroy’s Store of Colors and Decorating Center in Maryville. They belonged to the Kansas City Decorating Association. After retirement, he and Shirley would winter in Mesa, AZ and had many friends in that area.

He is survived by his wife Shirley F. Wedlock of the home, Maryville, MO. Children, Sherril, and husband Greg Mathis, Camdenton, MO, Scott, and wife Karen Wedlock, Mound City, MO, and Shanda Connolly, and David Pash, Santa Monica, CA; 5 grandchildren, Quinn Mathis, Tyler Mathis, Emily Wedlock, Hannah Wedlock and Elizabeth Pash; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, on Saturday, September 14, 2013, at the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home, Maryville, MO. Rev. Greg Mathis will be the minister. The burial will be private in the Miriam Cemetery, Maryville, MO.

The Family will receive friends from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 14, 2013, at the funeral home.
