Ruth Hall

Hazel "Ruth" Hall, 87, of Maryville, MO, passed away on August, 6, 2013, at her home with her family at her side. Ruth was born October 24, 1925, in Middle Fork Township, Gentry County, MO, to Charlie and Maggie (Harris) Shannon.

She graduated from Worth High School in 1943, and later worked for 15 years as a Secretary/Receptionist for Dr. W. R. Jackson. She then spent 15 years as the secretary for Laura Street Baptist Church and as a part time waitress at the Cardinal Inn, all of Maryville, MO.

On July 29, 1944, she married Vincent Warren Hall in Troy, KS. They spent 47 years together before his death in 1991.

Ruth had been a member of the Laura Street Baptist Church, Maryville, for 56 years.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; sisters, Leona and Thelma Shannon, Amanda Myers, Fern Bollinger; and brothers, Elvin, Carter, Basil, Earl and Leland Shannon.

She is survived by her daughters, Margaret Collier, Maryville, MO, Hazel (LaVern) Cummings, St. Joseph, MO; 3 grandchildren, Annette (David) Bennington, Saint Joseph, MO. Brent (Debbie) Collier Valentine, NE, and Tina (Andy) Welty Lincoln, NE; 8 great Grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; and several Nieces and Nephews

A visitation will be held 6-8:00 PM on Thursday, August 8, 2013, at the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home, Maryville, Mo. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 9, 2013, at the Laura Street Baptist Church, Maryville, MO. Pastor Paul McKim will be the minister. Interment will be at the Miriam Cemetery, Maryville, MO.
