Jerry Decker

Mr. Gerald E. (Jerry) Decker, 83, of Maryville, MO, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2013, at the North Kansas City Hospital, North Kansas City, MO.

Jerry was born in Milwaukee, WI, on October 17, 1929, to Frank and Geraldine Hagen. They preceded him in death. He was also preceded by his wife, Ellouise "Tote" Decker, in 2012; and a grandson, Brian Lyle in 1993.

Jerry worked in construction most all his life. He also owned and operated the Maryville Service Center, Maryville, MO, for many years. He was a member of St. Gregory’s Catholic Church, the Elks Lodge #760, and the James Edward Gray American Legion Post #100, all of Maryville. Jerry helped with many military honor details for veterans in the area.

Jerry proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict in the US Army. He was honorably discharged in July of 1951. He then moved to Maryville.

On April 17, 1951, Jerry was united in marriage to M. Ellouise Roney, in Maryville, MO. To this union 5 children were born. Diane Decker, Maryville, MO, Pam Lyle, Mission KS, Kurby Decker, Richmond, TX, Ron and wife, Jocelyn (Yien) Decker, Maryville, MO, and Greg Decker, Parkville, MO; 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 1, 2013, at the St. Gregory’s Barbarigo Catholic Church, the burial will follow in the St. Patrick’s Cemetery, both of Maryville, MO.

The Prayer Service will be at 6:00 PM, Wednesday, July 31, 2013, with visitation to follow until 8:00 PM, at the St. Gregory’s Bargarigo Catholic Church, Maryville, MO.

Memorials are suggested to the James Edward Gray American Legion Post #100, Maryville, MO.
Services are under the direction of the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home, Maryville, MO.
