Kay Scott

Glenda Kay Scott, 62, of Ravenwood, MO lost a courageous battle with heart disease and cancer on Sunday, July 28, 2013, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN.

Kay was born on January 21, 1951 in Trenton, MO, and lived many years in the Laredo and Trenton, Missouri, areas. She attended Laredo High School and graduated from Trenton High School, and later the Trenton Junior College, receiving her LPN and her RN degrees. Her parents were CW and Linda Marie (Gott) Douglas.

She was preceded in death by her father, CW Douglas in 2003, and by 2 brothers in infancy.

Kay worked as a nurse at St. Francis Hospital, Nodaway County Health and Parkdale Nursing home, and retired as the nurse at the Northeast Nodaway School in Ravenwood. She also taught Lamaze classes and was an active member of the Ravenwood United Methodist Church.

On June 21, 1970, Kay was united in marriage to Robert D. Scott, in Laredo, MO, he survives of the home.

Other survivors include her children, Charles H. (Chuck) and wife, Elaina Scott, Raleigh, NC, Linda K. Brown, St. Joseph, MO, Natisha (Tisha) D. Roberts, St. Joseph, MO, and Trent R. and wife, Amanda (Mandy) Scott, Savannah, MO; 2 brothers, Charles Douglas, and Larry Douglas; 6 grandchildren, Jordan Scott, Courtney Brown, Trevor Brown, Tanner Roberts, Brayden Brown, and Ella Scott, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 3, 2013, at the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home, Maryville, MO, Rev. Janis Tobias will be the minister. The burial will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery, Ravenwood, MO.

The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 PM, Friday, August 2, 2013, at the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home, Maryville, MO.

Memorials are suggested to the H.C.M.A., (Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Association), or the Ravenwood United Methodist Church, Ravenwood, MO.
