Dr. Bruce R. Litte, PhD, 69, of Maryville, MO passed away, Sunday January 20, 2013, at the St. Francis Hospital in Maryville, MO.

Dr. Litte was born on January 6, 1944, in Melrose, MA. His parents were Rudolph and Irene Elsie (Sivachek) Litte and preceded him in death. Dr. Litte was a graduate of the Lincoln Sudberry Regional High School, class of 1961. He then received his Bachelors of Arts degree in English from Kalamazoo College, in Kalamazoo, MI, in 1965, and later received his Masters and PhD. in English from the University of Kansas, Lawrence, KS.

Dr. Litte was a member and attended St. Gregory’s Barbarigo Catholic Church, Maryville, MO.
Left to mourn his passing is his sister, Marcia Irene Litte, Coos Bay, OR; his friend, Kenton Wilcox, Maryville, MO; and many former students as well as children in spirit.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 26, 2013, at the St. Gregory’s Barbarigo Catholic Church, Maryville, MO. Cremation will take place after the services.

The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 PM, Friday, January 25, 2013, at the Church, and prayer service will be at recited at 7:00 PM.

Memorial contributions can be made through the Northwest Foundation to the Dr. Bruce Litte Scholarship Fund. Make checks payable to the Northwest Foundation, Inc., and please write Dr. Bruce Litte Scholarship on the memo line. Direct those to the NW Foundation, 800 University Drive, Maryville, MO, 64468.
