Virginia Lee Zimmerman

Virginia L. Zimmerman 69, of Maryville, MO, passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2012, at the St. Francis Hospital in Maryville.

Virginia was born on October 12, 1943, in Quitman, MO, to Walter Gene and Lena (McElroy) Hecker.

Virginia was a 1961 graduate of the West Nodaway High School in Burlington Junction, MO. She attended the former Quitman Missouri United Methodist Church where, in 1961, she married Garry Nuckolls. On July 5, 1985, Virginia married Bernard, Zimmerman in Las Vegas, NV. In 2000, Virginia retired from Energizer Battery in Maryville.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Zimmerman on December 25, 2009; and by 2 brothers Bruce Hecker, and Michael Hecker.

Her survivors include her three daughters, Traci (Steve) Wilson, Kristi (Bruce) White, and Codi D. Nuckolls, all of Maryville, MO; one grandson Jase C. Wilson, Kansas City, MO; parents, Walter G. and Lena Hecker, Denver, CO; two sisters, Gloria Mahr, Littleton, CO, and Linda (Lonnie) Iringan, Centennial, CO; four step-grandchildren, Reid Zimmerman, Jacobi Zimmerman, Trevor Zimmerman, and Logan Zimmerman; three nieces, Angela Marques, Kendra Iringan, Christine Iringan and five nephews, Chance Mahr, Damien Iringan, Ian Iringan, Steven Hecker and Jeremiah Hecker.
Virginia enjoyed time with family and friends, shooting pool and playing trivia games. Never one to shy away from a challenge,

Virginia always stood up for who and what she believed in.

Graveside services and burial will be at 10:30 AM Monday, December 3, 2012, at the St. Mary’s Cemetery, Maryville. No formal visitation is planned.

In lieu of flowers, memorial can be directed to the SouthPaws Veterinary Clinic, 2211 S. Main, Maryville, MO 64468, to help with stray dogs and cats brought to the clinic. This was a cause very close to Virginia's heart.
