Maurice Franklin Sanders 73, of Maryville, MO, passed away Saturday, November 24, 2012 at the VA Medical Center in Leavenworth, KS.
Maurice was born on May 29, 1939, in Nodaway County, MO, to Daniel W. and Minnie E. (Wagner) Sanders, they preceded him in death. He was also preceded by his sister, Ruth Sanders, in 1968.
Maurice lived all his life in this area and was semi-retired as the owner and operator of Northwest Imports Sales, which he opened in 1979.
He was a US Army veteran, and later was on the Missouri National Guard Shooting Team, winning a 2nd place National Shooting Award, competing against all branches of the armed forces. Maurice loved to hunt and fish, and to go Prairie Dog hunting in South Dakota and Wyoming. He also liked touring on his motorcycle.
On August 19, 1961, Maurice was united in marriage to Sandra Sue Kiser in Graham, MO, she survives of the home in Maryville.
Other survivors include his 2 sons, Daniel R. (Ashley M.) Sanders, Maryville, MO, and Paul F (Erin M.) Sanders, Auburn, NE; 2 sisters, Betty Jean (Donald) Miller, Hollister, MO, and Judith Nevens, Rocky Mount, NC; 2 grandchildren, Lucas Paul and Sydney M. Sanders, Auburn, NE; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Maurice’s body has been cremated. A memorial visitation will take place from 3-6:00 PM Tuesday, November 27, 2012, at the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home, Maryville. Mr. Spencer Miller, friend of the family, will speak at 3:45 PM Tuesday, during the visitation.
The Military Honors Detail will be performed at the grounds of the funeral home at 4:00 PM Tuesday, during the visitation, by members of the Missouri Military Honors Detail.
