C.C. Maffitt

Cleo Charles (C.C.) Maffitt 67, of Graham, MO went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 27, 2012 at the Heartland Hospital in St. Joseph, MO. He was born on December 21, 1944 in Bolckow, MO to Donald and Irene (Mitchell) Maffitt.

C.C. attended the Trego country school from grades one through three, and finished his education at Graham High School graduating in 1962. He attended Northwest Missouri State University and graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in Agriculture.

C.C. taught Vocational Agriculture in Craig, MO. He owned and operated an agriculture business in Skidmore, MO. He later operated a hog confinement operation and at his death owned and operated Maffitt Trucking Services.

C.C. had a love for flying, owning his own airplane at one time. It was his delight to offer others rides as well as transportation via air to those in need. All those who know him recalled his giving spirit and his witty sense of humor.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Irene; paternal and maternal grandparents; and an infant niece.

He is survived by three sisters, Vivian Bickerstaff, Savannah, MO, Donna Fay Maffitt, St. Joseph, MO, and Pamela Sorensen and husband Dave of Camden Point, MO; as well as two nieces, Lori Speer, and Sherri Laney, and a nephew, Bruce Bickerstaff; two great nieces and three great nephews. He is also survived by his fiancé and love of his life, Pam Galbraith of Stanberry, MO.

Mr Maffitt has been cremated. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 9, 2012 at the Graham Community Building, Graham, MO. Inurnment will be in the Prairie Home Cemetery, Graham, MO.
No formal visitation is planned
