Thelma M. Demott

Thelma M. (Smith) Demott 99, of Hopkins, MO passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at the Golden Living Center in Maryville, MO.

Thelma was born on August 24, 1912 in Parnell, MO to Pearl and Mary (Cox) Smith. At the age of 2 they moved to Bedford, Iowa and she was a graduate of the Bedford High School, class of 1931.

On December 12, 1931 she married Harry Demott in Hopkins, MO.

Thelma was preceded in death by her husband; her son, Donald D. Demott; 7 sisters, and 2 brothers.

Thelma and Harry were the parents of 7 children; Richard (Nancy) Demott, Pickering, MO, Anita Dougherty, Hopkins, MO, Carol Gorman, Maryville, MO, Mary K. (Russell) Clements, Maryville, MO. Harry (Carlotta) Demott, Sheridan, MO, Millicent (Steve) Carstenson, Grinnell, IA, and Valerie (Allen) Cassavaugh, Hopkins, MO; she is also survived by her daughter in law, Teresa Demott; 28 grandchildren, 59 great grandchildren, and 12 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 26, 2012 at the Hopkins Cemetery, Hopkins, MO, no formal visitation is planned.
