Ronald William Gaugh 80, of Maryville, MO passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening, April 25, 2012, at the Parkdale Manor Nursing Home, Maryville.
Ron was born in St. Joseph, MO on February 27, 1932 to William Russell and Audrey (Stiwalt) Gaugh. He was a Maryville High School graduate, and later graduated from the University of Kansas,School of Pharmacy in Lawrence, KS. He was the co-owner and operator of the former Gaugh Drug Store, and had co-owned the Hillside Pharmacy, both of Maryville.
Ron was united in marriage to Marilyn Louise Bennett on January 27, 1951 in Maryville, MO
Ron and Marilyn later moved to Richmond, MO and he was employed as a Pharmacist with WalMart, retiring in 1996. They then lived in St. Joseph for 8 years and returned to Maryville 2 years ago.
His memberships included the First United Methodist Church, and the Nodaway Masonic Lodge #470 AF & AM, both of Maryville. He was the past Worshipful Master and 50 year member of the lodge. Ron had his private pilots license, loved to fly, and co-owned a plane in Maryville for many years. He also loved to hunt.
Preceded him in death were his parents; and his brother, Norman Gaugh in 1999.
His survivors include his wife, Marilyn, of the home in Maryville; two children, daughter, Cindy and husband Ed Newbury, of Maryville; son Dr. Craig W. and wife Dr. Rhonda K. Gaugh, Mankato, MN; 5 grandchildren, Jenny Staples, Parnell, MO, Sara and husband Josh Emery, Maryville, MO, Hilary and husband Chad Hamilton, Lawrence, KS, Dr. Emily Gaugh, Houston, TX, and Evan Gaugh, Cotati, CA; 7 great grandchildren; 4 nephews; and his sister in law, Kathleen Gaugh, Maryville, MO.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, April 28, 2012 at the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home, Maryville, MO, Pastor Scott Moon will be the officiant. The burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Maryville. A Masonic service will be held immediately following the funeral service on Saturday.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service at the funeral home on Saturday.
