Kurt L. Moore 68, formerly of Ravenwood, Missouri, died Saturday March 31, 2012 in Greenwood, Indiana.
He was born August 27, 1943 in Kansas City, Missouri, and while an infant, was adopted by Roy E. and Izeyl F. (Dack) Moore of Ravenwood. He served in both the U.S. Army and Air Force. In 1970 he married Joan Prichard and to this union was born Erin Elizabeth and Eric Kurt Moore.
He owned and operated a successful insurance agency selling for Farmer’s Mutual of Nodaway County. Later he found much happiness as Entertainment Editor of the Branson Daily Independent newspaper and other entertainment magazines and newspapers. Kurt’s ready wit and gregarious personality gained him many friends in the Branson entertainment world. Recently he moved to Indianapolis to be closer to family. While in Indianapolis, he worked for The Southsider Voice newspaper finding that this also was a good outlet for his social personality.
His is survived by his daughter Erin, her husband Len Layton, and their three sons Evan, Jack, and Henry Layton all of North Richland Hills, Texas; his son, Eric Moore of Indianapolis, Indiana; his former wife, Joan Moore of Greenwood, Indiana; and his adopted sister, Karen Blythe of Benson, Arizona.
Kurt was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Izeyl Moore; and his wife of five years, Esther “Annie” Moore, whom he married in 1996.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday April 7, 2012 at Bram- Danfelt Funeral Home, 206 E. South Hills Dr., Maryville, Missouri. The burial will be in the Sweet Home Cemetery, Ravenwood, MO.
Friends and family may call at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until service time on Saturday.
