She was a graduate of Albany High School and had a teaching degree from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, MO.
After teaching for 2 years, she married Maurice George and they had two beloved daughters, Billee, and Georgalee. They lived on their farm in Albany their entire married life. After Maurice’s death in 1965, Dolores worked for 15 years as an assistant to Dr. Bernie Parsons in Albany. She later married long time friend Lloyd Summa and moved to Maryville, MO.
Her life in Maryville was brightened by her Edwards Street neighbors – Diane, Stormy, and others were so special to her. The neighborhood children all know how to find her candy drawer. Dolores loved her son-in-law Craig and cherished her grandchildren, Lesli, Kent and his wife Anna, and in return they adored their “DoDo”.
Dolores enjoyed golf, bridge, gardening, and cooking. She avidly cheered for Tiger Woods, the St. Louis Cardinals, the Kansas City Royals, MIZZOU, and the Northwest Bearcats.
Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, sister Lucille Noreen, husband Maurice George, husband Lloyd Summa, and daughter Billee Summa.
She is survived by daughter Georgalee George, sister Phyllis Wing, son-in-law Craig Summa, grandchildren, Lesli Bills, Kent and wife Anna Summa, step-son Mick and wife Jeanette Summa, several nieces and nephews, and lifelong friends Eleanor Smith and Ronald Canaday.
