Phebe M. Reed 90, of Burlington Junction, MO passed peacefully from this life on Friday, February 17, 2012, at the Nodaway Nursing Home, Maryville, MO

Phebe was born in Burlington Junction on June 26, 1921 to Clyde and Lydia (Bollinger) Shadduck, and was a lifelong resident of the area. She graduated as Valedictorian from the Burlington Junction High School, class of 1939, and was a member of the Bethany Christian Church, Barnard, MO.

Phebe was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Emmett F. Reed, whom she married on September 27, 1945 at the Methodist Parsonage in Albany, MO; one daughter, Martha Ann Reed; one sister, Grace Clark; one brother, Keith Shadduck; and one great granddaughter, Elliott Arcile Reed.

Phebe loved family dinners, her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, all her work for churches, and chocolate candy. She was a homemaker, farm wife, and Mom.

Survivors include her children, Linda “Sue” Reed Brown and husband Larry of Columbia, MO, David Reed and wife Shirley of Burlington Junction, MO, Carol Sanders and husband Steve of Maitland, MO, Joan Haaga and husband Jack of Rose Hill, KS; grandchildren, Heather and Charles Linhart of Leon, IA, Brian and Cassi Reed of Henderson, IA, Nathan Reed of Maryville, MO, Craig Proctor of Rock Port, MO, Jeremy and Cashie Proctor of Savannah, MO, Steven Proctor of Kansas City, MO, Jeremy and Dawn Brown of Columbia, MO, Angie Rush and Doug Mesko of Columbia, MO, Emily Haaga of Augusta, KS, and Sabrina Sanders of Kansas City, MO; twelve great grandchildren; brother, Earl and Mary Shadduck of Delano, CA; sister-in-law, Kay Shadduck of Buena Vista, VA; many nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, and friends.

Funeral Services will be at 10:30 AM Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at the Christian Church, Burlington Junction, MO, the burial will be in the Ohio Cemetery, also of Burlington Junction, MO. Pastor Joshua Christy, and Rev. Larry Brown will be the officiants.

The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 PM Monday, February 20, 2012 at the Christian Church, Burlington Junction, MO.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the Burlington Junction Christian Church, or to the SSM Hospice of NW Missouri, Maryville, MO.

Services are entrusted to the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home, Maryville, MO.
