Darlene Marie Florea 82, of Maryville, MO passed away peacefully Monday, January 30, 2012 at her home in Maryville with her family at her side.
Darlene was born on October 25, 1929 in Gaynor, MO, to Francis and Anna (Loch) Howard, and was a former resident of that area before moving to Maryville. She worked as a clerk at the former Woolworths Store, and later retired from the Montgomery Wards store, both of Maryville.
On April 6, 1947 in Troy, KS, Darlene was united in marriage to Dale S. Florea, he survives of the home in Maryville.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Michael Dale Florea in 1994; her granddaughter Tara Florea in 1988; her great granddaughter Elli Reed in 2008; her sisters, Marjorie Florea, and Arcile Payton, and brother, Francis Howard.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her children, Linda (Gary) Grasty, Clarinda, IA, Nancy (Eldon) Lewis, Maryville, MO, Shirley (David) Reed, Burlington Junction, MO, and William “Bill” (Kim) Florea, Maryville, MO. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; brother, Ron (LaVera) Howard, Merriam, KS; sister, Doris Adamson, Laramie, WY; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Darlene’s wish was to be cremated. Her memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, February 3, 2012 at the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home, Maryville, MO. Her inurnment will follow the service at the Long Branch Cemetery, Gaynor, MO.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday at the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home.
