Richard C. Neal 84, of Maryville, MO passed away Saturday, January 21, 2012 at the Golden Living Center, Maryville.

Richard was born in Maryville on August 3, 1927 to Melvin B. and Edith (Hartness) Neal, and lived most all his life in the area.

A retired dairyman and farmer, Richard enjoyed visiting with his morning coffee group. He was a graduate of Maryville High School, and graduated with a degree in Ag from Northwest Missouri State Teachers College in 1950, both of Maryville. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WW II.

His memberships included the First United Methodist Church, member and past Worshipful Master of the Nodaway Masonic Lodge #470 AF & AM, past president of the Nodaway County Farm Bureau, the COOP Board, secretary of the Polk Township Fire Board, and he volunteered for the Nodaway County Road to Recovery, all of Maryville.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Marjorie Meppen.

He married Doris A. (Hartman) Neal, on November 11, 1954 in Maryville, and she survives of the home. He is also survived by his children; son, Kenny C. Neal, Tarkio, MO, and daughter, Sandra Neal, Maryville, MO; and by numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 PM Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home, Maryville, MO. The burial will be in the Miriam Cemetery, also of Maryville.

The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 PM Monday, January 23, 2012 at the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home. The Masonic service will follow at 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the First United Methodist Church, Maryville. Or to the various charities of the Nodaway Masonic Lodge #470 AF & AM, Maryville.
