Ellouise Decker

Mary Ellouise (Tote) Decker 83, of Maryville, MO passed from this life on January 16, 2012 at her home in Maryville.

Ellouise was born on August 18, 1928 north of Maryville to Oliver Vincent and Mary Elizabeth (Heitman) Roney. She had lived most of her life in the area.
She attended the former Mount Pleasant School, and graduated from the Maryville High School in 1946. On April 17, 1951, Ellouise was united in marriage to Jerry Decker in Maryville, MO.

Ellouise had worked as a bookkeeper and did administrative duties for the former St. Joseph Light and Power office, now KCP&L, in Maryville. She also co-owned and worker for 10 years at the former Decker TV and Appliance in Maryville, was the secretary at St. Gregory’s Barbarigo Catholic Church, and had been the Career Placement Coordinator at the NW Regional Council. What she really enjoyed doing was volunteer work. Ellouise had been a Red Cross Volunteer, a volunteer at St. Francis Hospital, Maryville, and had also volunteered at the Prison Ministry at the Maryville Treatment Center.

Her memberships included St. Gregory’s Barbarigo Catholic Church, the Women’s Guild of the church, and BPW, all of Maryville.
Ellouise was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Bill Roney, in 1990; and her grandson Brian Lyle, in 1993.

Her survivors include her husband Jerry of the home in Maryville; her children, Diane Decker, Maryville, MO, Pam Lyle, Shawnee Mission, KS, Kurby Decker, Richmond, TX, Ron and wife Jocelyn (Yien) Decker, Maryville, MO, and Greg and wife Elaine Decker, Maryville, MO; her sisters, Carolyn, and husband Ron Lewis, and Nancy, and husband Lee Moser, both of Maryville. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial and a celebration of her life will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 19, 2012 at St. Gregory’s Barbarigo Catholic Church, the burial will be in the St. Patrick’s Cemetery, both of Maryville, MO.

The parish and family prayer service and rosary will be at 6:30 PM Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at St. Gregory’s Bargarigo Catholic Church, Maryville, with the visitation to follow until 8:00 PM.

Memorials are suggested to the St. Gregory’s Barbarigo Catholic Church School, Maryville, MO
