John W. (Jay) Law

John W. (Jay) Law 81, of Skidmore, MO passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at the Golden Living Center in Maryville, MO.

Jay was born on July 27, 1930 in Worth County, MO and was a lifelong resident of the area. His parents were Ray and Trixie Rose (Phillips) Law.

Jay graduated from Worth County High School, and was a retired self employed trucker and farmer. He was a member of the Denver Missouri Christian Church, and was proud to be a life member of Skidmore Masonic Lodge #511 AF & AM, Skidmore, MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Raymond Law, his sister Irene Thrasher, and 2 brother in law’s, Bill Thrasher and C.A. McCleary; and his son Ronnie Law.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis A. (Smith) Law, of the home. Jay and Phyllis were married on October 30, 1949 in Worth County, MO. Son, John (Pam) Law, Skidmore, MO, daughter, Kathryn (Gerald) Magee, Kearney, MO; his sister, Opal McCleary, Dallas, TX, sister in law Doris Sanders, Gladstone, MO; 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; and a special thank you to his niece, Karen Fletchall, Denver, MO.

Graveside services and burial will be at 10:30 AM Friday, November 25, 2011 at the High Ridge Cemetery, Stanberry, MO. The family will receive friends from 6-7:00 PM Thursday, November 24, 2011 at the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home, Maryville, MO. A Masonic service will be conducted at 7:00 PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Activities Unit at Golden Living Center, 524 N. Laura, Maryville, MO 64468.
