James L. (Jim) Leseberg

James L. (Jim) Leseberg 86, of Maryville MO and formerly of Edmond, OK and Beatrice, NE passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at the Nodaway Nursing Home, Maryville, MO

Jim was born on February 6, 1925 in Marshall County, KS, to Henry Jordan and Christine Helen Christianson Leseberg. On December 21, 1948 in Odell, NE, Jim was united in marriage to Arlene Dvorak. She passed away on March 25, 1997. He was also preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.

Jim retired from Nebraska Public Power in 1985. He also owned and operated Jim’s Apco Service in Beatrice. He was a lifelong baseball fan and had played on the Beatrice Legion Ball team. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking and spending time with his family.

Jim was a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church, the Elks Lodge, and Eagles Lodge all of Beatrice, NE.

Survivors include his daughter, Diane (Ron) Brown, Maryville, MO, and son, Dennis (JoAnn) Leseberg, Edmond, OK, two grandsons, Chris (Kati) Brown, Union, MO, and Nick Brown, Kansas City, MO, granddaughter, Megan Leseberg, Austin, TX, a great granddaughter, Natalie Brown, three sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Leseberg’s body will be cremated and his memorial service will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 20, 2011 at the Fox Funeral Home, Beatrice, NE. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in the Evergreen Home Cemetery, Beatrice.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Beatrice, NE Humane Society, or to the New Nodaway Humane Society, Maryville, MO.
