Dorothy L. Henggeler

Dorothy Louise Henggeler 68, of Ravenwood, MO passed from this life on May 16, 2011 at the Heartland Hospital in St. Joseph following a lengthy illness.

Dorothy was born on November 14, 1942 in Maryville, MO. to Ira Gilbert and Helen Elizabeth Ray Newlon, they preceded her in death, she was also preceded in death by her brother in law Robert Aley, and her sister Roberta Aley. She was of the Christian faith.

Dorothy lived in the Maryville community for most of her life, except for spending twenty years in the Excelsior Springs, MO area.

A 1960 Maryville High School graduate, Dorothy worked for many years at Parkdale Manor Nursing Home. In 1988, she received her LPN certificate from the N.W. Technical School, and later retired from Parkdale Manor. She came out of retirement to work in the medical records departments at Village Care Center.

On May 22, 1992, Dorothy was united in marriage in Ravenwood, MO to Raymond V. Henggeler, he survives of the home.

She is also survived by two sons of Richard Mildward, Steven W. Mildward, Sherman, TX, Scott A. and wife Kimberly Mildward, and grandson Brice, (mother Sarah Graham) his son Malaki Mildward, and Hayden Mildward, Maryville, MO. Son, Jeremy C. and wife Sureena Henggeler, and their son Marcus and daughter, Brylie Henggeler, Stanberry, MO. Son, Nicholas E. and his daughters Kamryn, and Kaelyn Henggeler, (mother Kelli Henggeler), Ravenwood, MO. Son, Sgt. Anthony S. Henggeler, currently serving in Afghanistan, and fiancée Holly Luke. Other survivors include siblings, Larry Newlon, Hubbard, IA, Robert Newlon, Asheville, NC, Iris Ditamore, Ravenwood, Maurice and Vickie Newlon, Cameron, MO, her half-siblings, Majorie Hontz, Savannah, MO, Mary Ruth McDonald, Gower, MO, and Carrol Newlon, St. Joseph, MO, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dorothy’s wish was to be cremated. Her memorial service will be at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, May 21, 2011 at the Bram-Danfelt Funeral Home, Maryville. The Rev. Paul McKim will be the officiant. Inurnment will be in the Miriam Cemetery, Maryville.

The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 P.M. Friday, May 20, 2011 at the funeral home.
